On August 15, 2019 in the State Institution “National Library of Tajikistan” was held an extended meeting of the Coordinating Council for the Prevention of Drug Abuse, chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Coordination Council – Deputy Prime Minister Azim Ibrahim, chaired by Deputy Chairman – Director Drugs under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Sherkhon Salimzoda and Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Olimzoda Mr. Nasim Khoja, members of the Council H account management of the relevant ministries and departments, deputy heads of regions, cities and industry professionals participated.
The following issues were considered at the meeting of the Council.
1. The current drug situation in the Republic of Tajikistan and measures to prevent it.
“Human Immunodeficiency Virus Status / Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome and Vulnerability of the Population with Measures to Prevent Them.”
3. Information on the implementation of the decisions of the Protocol of the meeting of the Coordinating Council for the Prevention of Drug Abuse from February 12, 2019.
On the first issue, the Director of the Drug Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Deputy Chairman of the Council – Sherkhon Salimzoda, on the second issue – the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Deputy Chairman of the Council – Nasim Olimzoda; Bozorali Safaralizoda, Department of Drug Control and Drug Prevention of the Agency made a presentation.
Following the speeches, discussions and exchange of views on the above issues were held and appropriate decisions were made.
The purpose of the enlarged meeting of the Council is to bring together those responsible for drug abuse and drug prevention, to establish cooperation and mutual assistance in drug and HIV prevention, to provide accurate information on the number of drug addicts and vulnerable people, to find information on implementation of decisions. The extended meeting of the Coordinating Council for the Prevention of Drug Abuse was held for the first time since its inception on a large scale.
